“Sally”

March 6, 1939 - September 28, 2025

Sally Williams passed away September 28, 2025, at age 86. Sally was born March 6, 1939, to James Edward Bryan, junior and Sarah Gordon Bryan in Conway, South Carolina. She was raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, graduated from Myrtle Beach High School and attended the University of South Carolina where she was one of the first women to graduate with a degree in accounting.

Sally worked as an accountant in Richmond, Virginia, and Atlanta, Georgia, and traveled quite extensively in Europe in her twenties. In 1969, she married R. Douglass Williams (Doug) on an icy, rainy, February day and moved to property he owned in Moreland, Georgia. For the next forty-two years they raised their three girls and a host of animals on their “farm.” In 2011, Sally and Doug moved to Brandon Wilde in Evans, Georgia to be closer to their children.

Sally loved the beach, her animals, her farm and books. Most of all, she loved her daughters: Beth, Allison and Katie. All three married men who Sally thought the world of and who helped in raising her six grandchildren. She was constantly in awe of how lucky she was to have her family. She taught them all about motherhood through example and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, recitals, graduations and various activities.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sarah Bryan as well as her brother, James Edward Bryan III (Poddy). She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, R. Douglass Williams III (Doug), her three girls and their husbands: Elizabeth Bryan Williams Boykin (Beth) and David Withers Boykin III, Allison Douglass Williams and James William Eccleston (Will) and Katherine Louise Williams Jones (Katie) and H. Bradford Jones, junior (Brad), and her six grandchildren: Bryan Douglass Boykin, Harold Bradford Jones III (Harry), Garris McKee Boykin, Macon Louise Jones, Berkeley Katherine Jones and Samuel James Eccleston (Sam). She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as her extended Jones, Boykin, and Eccleston family.

There will be a private service on Monday, October 6, 2025, with burial to follow at a later date. The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Alice David, Dr. Bruce Tannehill, Dr. Danny Newman and the late Dr. Karen Yeh. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Camilla Foundation, Attn: Charlene Lamar, 515 Denmark Street, Suite 1000, Statesboro, Georgia, 30458.
