Sherri Lynne McGahee

Augusta, GA – Sherri Lynne McGahee, 59, entered into rest to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, December 22, 2024 surrounded by her family. 

Sherri was a lifelong resident of Augusta. She graduated from Butler High School and Augusta State. She was a registered nurse at Doctors Hospital for many years in the Burn Unit & Endoscopy. 

She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her loving heart, and giving spirit. Her smile and presence could light up any room and had the most contagious laugh. 

Family members include her mother and step-father: Elaine Gunn-Richardson and Andy; daughter: Jessica Lynne Jahn; sons: Justin Rodney Jahn and his wife Samantha, and Jonathan Royce Jahn; former husband: Jay Rodney Jahn; grandbaby: Callaway Jahn; siblings: Johnny Scot McGahee and his wife Susan, Samuel Prescott McGahee and his wife Brooke, Drew and Joni Richardson, Caroline and William Scofield; niece and nephew: Amber Elizabeth Featherston and her husband Aaron, and Aaron Scot McGahee; loving four-legged companions: Bo, Duke, and Brodie; and a host of extended family members. Sherri is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Samuel McGahee, and step-mother, Wanda Prescott McGahee.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 27, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Stacy Philips and Rev. Ron Dixon officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 P.M. at Waldens Cemetery in Avera, GA. Pallbearers will be George Hobbs, Craig Hobbs, Ken Prescott, George McGahee, Mike Gunn, Al Gunn, and Byron Crutchfield.
