Appling, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, December 25, 2025, Sheryl Ann Bergum, 74, loving wife of David Bergum, mother of son James ‘Sonny’ Bergum his wife Traci Bergum, and grandmother of two grandsons Bradley and Ryan Bergum.

Sheryl was born and raised in Augusta, GA. She was the daughter of Rozzie and Betty Edgar (Tudor) of Augusta, GA. She met and married David at Ft. Gordon and traveled to the many US Army assignments until David’s retirement in 1994, where upon they returned to settle in the Augusta area building their permanent home. Sheryl and David were married for over 40 years. Sheryl was a devoted homemaker who took exceptional care of David and Sonny. She was a strong, common sense, and principled woman, a wonderful cook, always had a wonderful and great sense of humor. She always believed in God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, often reading the Bible scriptures. Sheryl enjoyed the art of painting and drawing. She loved and took extremely good care of her family pets. She was very family oriented and devoted grandmother to her grandchildren. She enjoyed the traveling adventures and countless experiences with David and Sonny while in the service, and later the many travels with Sonny, Traci, Bradley, and Ryan over the past years. Sheryl always enjoyed going to the beach and ocean. In Sheryl’s younger years she spent many summers with her cousins in the Grovetown area around the farm animals that she thoroughly enjoyed.

Sheryl wishes were to be cremated, and upon the passing of David, mixing of their ashes, then spreading into the ocean.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Americn Liver Foundation (ALF).

The family wishes were to hold a very private family viewing of Sheryl, paying their final respects to a wonderful and beautiful woman.
