Terry Owen Moore

Terry Owen Moore, 74, of Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

Terry was an incredible man who loved his family. He was hands-on and quick-learning; at his own home, he built a beloved playhouse that became a place of imagination and adventure for generations of children.

Terry also had a lifelong passion for speed and motorsports, coming from a racing family and racing himself in earlier years. In recent years, he enjoyed customizing his bright red Slingshot and sharing the thrill of rides with friends and family.

Throughout his life, Terry pursued many interests and accomplishments. He was an Eagle Scout, a certified scuba diver, and held a private pilot’s license. He retired from Augusta Newsprint as a laboratory technician after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his sister, Erika Moore Huseman (Richmond); his child, Russell O. (L. Rayne) Moore; his niece, Katie Moore Wiltsey (Brian); his granddaughters, Adeline and Lily; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, B. Dale Moore and Ruth M. Moore; his daughter, Mindy Moore Dowdy; his brother, Roger F. Moore; and his nephew, Adam D. Moore.

Per Terry’s and the family’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
