Virginia Kendall Hyde

Virginia Kendall “Gina” Hyde passed away on Sunday, February 15 th , 2026, in Augusta GA, after a long and challenging, yet bravely fought, health battle. Gina was born on March 24, 1961, in Port Jervis, New York to John and Loretta Hinkley.

Gina was a dedicated nurse who served her patients with dignity, respect, and true compassion. She took great care of her patients and often referred to them as her family. Her favorite place was being surrounded by her grandchildren, where she was known simply as ‘Grammy’. She loved her ‘grands’ as she would call them. She always had Grammy bags filled with love and greeting cards filled with glitter.

Virgina is survived by her husband Richard Hyde, her children, Amanda Hill (Dan), William Bloomer (Alison), Kyle Hemion (Robin), stepson Caelan Hyde, and her 13 beloved grandchildren.

Additionally, Virginia is survived by her sisters, Paula “Polly” Roberts (Michael), Julie Scales, Georgianne “Georgi” Clark, Geraldine “Geri” Duryea (Joe), her mother-in-law Oma Hyde and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents John and Loretta Hinkley, her sisters Maryanne Yale and Jacalyn Hinkley, her nephews Russell and Andrew Scales and her father in-law Ronald Hyde.

Celebration of life for Virginia will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Mann Mize Methodist Church located at 2705 Milledgeville Rd, Augusta, GA.
