Augusta, GA – William (Bill) Weston Pidcoe Jr., age 86, passed away at Piedmont Augusta Hospital in Augusta, Georgia on August 18, 2025.
Bill was born on November 25, 1938, the only son and third child of William Weston Pidcoe and Una DeBard Pidcoe. Bill was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and later moved with his family to Madison where he graduated from Madison West High School in 1956 and later the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he majored in Geology. Bill played Center for the Wisconsin Badgers football team and played in the 1960 Rose Bowl. Bill continued his studies in post graduate work before beginning a lengthy career as a hydrogeologist. An avid Badger sports fan and supporter, Bill made sure to attend at least one Badger sporting event while he was in Madison throughout the years. While in his mid-80’s, he could still be seen making his way to the upper decks of the Field House and Camp Randall.
Bill is survived by his nephews Andrew H. Kessenich and Michael W. Kessenich and his five great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William W. Pidcoe and Una D. Pidcoe, and his two sisters Anne Garren Igou and Patricia Merle Kessenich. Bill will be buried with his family at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas.
