Augusta, GA – Connie McCoy, “Nanu” to her family, entered into rest Monday, November 6, 2023. She is remembered most for her caring and loving nature. She was married to her late husband, Jack “Papa” McCoy, for 65 years.

Through her actions and words, she established a foundation of core values, including faith, hard work, and selflessness, that will extend to her great-grandchildren and beyond.

She loved trips to Edisto Beach where she would spend hours hunting shark’s teeth. She also cherished trips with friends to Italy, Ireland, Hawaii, and the Holy Land. Her favorite day of the week was Sunday, when for many years she cooked and hosted lunch for her children and their families after Mass at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Connie cherished her family and faith above all. She was a coalescing, loving force that will continue to live in many hearts for years to come.

Family members include her daughters: Angela M. McRae of Augusta, Terryl M. Radeck (Jack) of Evans, and Karen M. Lamar (Gene) of North Augusta, SC; son: Jack T. McCoy, Jr. (Robin) of Aiken, SC; grandchildren: Brian McRae, Aimee McRae, Ashley Womack (Daniel), John O'Connor Radeck (Lauren), Philip Radeck (Anna), Ryan Quarles (Kevin), Allison Boyd (Kenneth), Connie Spivey (Andy), Kelly Jarosz (Brandon), Lauren Peters (Clint), Katie Kirbo (Josh), and Matthew Lamar; 20 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Westwood Nursing Home for all the compassion and care given to Mrs. McCoy.

The funeral Mass will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Nate Swann celebrant and the family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M., in the Narthex of the church. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Avenue, Augusta, GA.
