Augusta, GA – Frances Carolyn DeHart, wife of the late James E. DeHart, of Augusta, GA entered into rest on Monday, September 25, 2023.

Carolyn was born in Charleston, SC as the daughter of the late Mary Ruth Reese

and Robert Jewell Griswell. She is survived by two sisters and was preceded in death by one younger brother. Carolyn was a graduate of Richmond Academy. She spent her career as the manager of Richards Furriers where she dedicated over 30 years of service to her customers. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by many friends and extended family.

Carolyn is survived by daughters: Michelle (Calvin) Burgess and Alicia (Tim) Padgett and grandchildren: Brooke Padgett, Megan Padgett, Matthew Burgess, Morgan Burgess, William Padgett, and Mason Burgess.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude for Georgia Hospice Care for assisting with their loving care.

The visitation will be held at Thomas Poteet & Son, 214 Davis Road, Augusta, GA 30907, on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30904. Pastor Mark Sterling and Chaplain

Jack Foley will be officiating. Pallbearers will be her four grandsons, Kenneth Kaltz and Padgett Sumner.
