Richard Perry III

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Sunday, January 21, 2024, Mr. Richard Perry III, 57, husband and friend of Carrie Perry. 

Richard was a native of Somerville, NJ but has lived in Augusta for several years. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was an owner/operator for Schneider Trucking and other transportation companies over the years. He was a caring and compassionate husband, father and Pop Pop. He was a true friend to everyone he met and remained in contact with over his lifetime. 

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his son: Richard Perry IV; daughter: Victoria Jones and her husband Isaiah; granddaughters: Jaliyah Benford and Layla Jones; and siblings: Kevin, Lennette, Andrew, and Andre. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Perry, Jr. and Bessie Mae Abou-el-Asaad. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlie Norwood Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center 950 15th Street Augusta, GA 30904.

The family encourages guests to wear black and gold in honor of his love of the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

The memorial service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Don Prosser officiating.
