Ford Verdery, Sr.

Mr. Rieves Ford Verdery Sr.,85, loving husband of 64 years to Mary Jameson Verdery, entered into rest on Friday May 31, 2024. He was born on December 30, 1938 to the late Albert Brantley Verdery and Louise Ford Verdery. 

Ford was a native and longtime resident of Augusta, Georgia. He graduated from St Paul’s School in Brooklandville, Maryland and attended Clemson University. He served in the 101st Airborne Division in the U.S Army.  Ford worked for Nationwide insurance as an agent for 38 years. Ford loved golf and the Clemson Tigers, but most importantly, he loved time spent with his family and friends. 

He is survived by his wife: Mary Jameson Verdery; son; Rieves Ford Verdery Jr. (Robin Lynn) of Lewes, Delaware; daughter: Whitney Verdery Page (Magruder) of Augusta, Georgia, and sister: Alison Price; grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth Page, Sarah Catherine Page, and Rieves Ford Verdery III. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert Brantley Verdery and Charles Stewart Verdery. 

The memorial graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Roy McVeigh officiating.
