Theressa Caroline Epting Wilcher, 88, went to be with her Lord and savior on September 26, 2023. She went peacefully in her sleep at home with loved ones around her.

She was born January 2, 1935, to Maxcy and Amanda "Mannie" Epting in Newberry, SC. She grew up in Newberry with eight siblings. and attended Bush River High School. She was a member of the 1953 champion basketball team at BRHS. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Shull, Sr in November of 1956 and had three children, Julian Franklin"Frankie" Shull, Jr, Angelia Shull, and Maxcy "Max" Edmund Shull. She moved to Augusta in 1963 and dedicated 35 years of service at the VAMC, Augusta division serving our Veterans. She was very active in the GNA-10th district and ANA. She also assisted in helping establish nursing protocols, procedures, and policies at the start-up of Doctor's Hospital in the late 1970s. After losing her husband in 1963, she remarried Ira Washington Wilcher, Jr. and had a son, Charles "Charlie" Epting Wilcher. After retiring from the VA, she taught several courses at the Augusta Technical College Thomson location and was lovingly called "Miss T." She was an active member at her church, Pierce United Methodist Church. She was a member of the UMW, taught Sunday School, and participated in the "School Release Program" where elementary school students who might not have been exposed to the love of God were shown the love of God and the salvation afforded them.
